Great snunney 2016-11-05 3:51

Hello John,
The person living in the pink house seems to have a point to make! I like the point of view with the colourful fa軋des directing us toward the prettily illuminated background hills. Very good management of the light and shadow contrasts with superb colours and clarity. I am interested to see Telford ventured as far North as this; no doubt his journey up took considerably longer than it would today. Thanks for sharing.

Default To snunney: Telford.....

Hello Stephen,

Thank you for your kind words yet again!

I know, I don't think I'd care to paint my house bright pink but there are other places around Scotland where seafront houses are painted similarly and I'm thinking of Tobermory on Mull amongst several others - like here.

Yes, good ol' Thomas Telford certainly got around a bit - we actually have a bridge here in Lanark only half a mile from where I live and which was built by him. He was, in fact, Scottish (from Dumfriesshire) but must have been a brilliant engineer and architect and his most famous piece of work was probably the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in north Wales.

Kind Regards,
