Photographer's Note

Workshops are full of hazards. Sharp serrated instruments can cause nasty wounds; hot metal can cause hurtful burns; and flying sparks and bright lights can blind eyes.

Normally one would wear gloves to protect the hands. Here in the UK this kind of work is governed by the Health and Safety Executive and stringent controls are set in place to ensure safety at work. At least this kid has a mask to protect his face and eyes.

But what of his feet? I doubt he wears espadrilles to be fashionable - and they certainly don't offer his feet any kind of protection.
