Photographer's Note
On a recent trip down to the coast we stopped briefly at Liebig house. Since moving to Namibia many years ago this place has held a fascination for me and this is not the first shot I have posted from this old home.
Over the years the climate, bats, birds and people have contributed to the slow decay of this once beautiful building.
Here is a larger version
See Here for more information about the colonial history of the house

Hello Rosemary,
A very well composed shot, full of textural and graphic details. I like how you have cropped it so close and encouraged entry into the building by following the lady.
I enjoyed following the link to find out about the history of the building. There is a theme for a film there!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Rosemary
You seem to be convinced by street photography! First of all, you noticed the scene with the blue wall with the dragoon contrasting with the orange top, and then waited for a human presence of the lady stepping into this abandonned room to discover the decayed walls and their tags.
Good off centered picture.
My best regards

Hi Rosemary,
interesting how the grafitty matches with the color on the walls. Perfect positioning of the woman entering.

Hello Rosemary
would love to visit this place and it is great that you can get inside the building, something that I wanted to do when I visited the old flour mill in Docklands, but was thwarted by security guards and fencing. It looks amazing and so atmospheric with this graffiti adding to the effect quite menacingly. A simple and yet alluring image.

Hi Rosemary,
Not so famous as houses of Kolmanskop. But this has certain charm too. Dark blue and orange make interesting colour combination. That dragon is well done. Framing is good and timing perfect, with that visitor just stepping in.

Hello Rosemary,
Seeing the thumbnail I was expecting a street-scene with some graffiti, so this was some surprise. I rarely see interiors with graffiti. It's a strange house with an interesting story and beautiful colours, in spite of the neglect. The light enters the second room very nicely through the door to the left. I am quite sure it was no coincidence that you snapped when the woman was perfectly placed in the doorway.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Rosemary

Hello Rosemary,
with the lady entering the open doorway there`s a lot to ponder and enjoy in this nicely composed shot, the colours and textures are so warm and inviting who could resist...
A fascinating photograph.

Hello Rosemary,
An interesting note about what must once have been a very impressive house and a delightful and striking photograph to accompany it.
Without the lady smartly dressed in white and red entering the doorway, this image would not have been half so impressive: she really adds a fine focal point and helps draw our attention to the interior of this house and the extensive and intricate grafitti there which surpasses the simpler imagery on the outside wall facing us.
Lovely lighting and wonderfully vibrant colours, a lovely simple composition and exceptional details and sharpness throughout.
Wonderful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hey Rosemary, a photo here with the perfect balance, the combination of colours, the swooping dragon, or could be the bull with the serpent tail, the scattered graffiti, perfect, i can tell you from the thumbnail the visual appeal was really good, more could happen around this scene but its a matter of availability..
take care

Hi Rosemary
excellent title for this scene.
this is certainly one of those places I'd like to see for myself one day.
I checked out your other shots too, they add alot to the primary post here.
and on a sort of funny note, that dragon is well done on the wall :)
Perhaps this place is haunted?
fine subject to post, enjoy your day

Hello Rosemary,
I like this a lot. The graphic shapes, the deteriorating walls and the graffiti make an interesting composition. Having the woman walking through the door was a real bonus and I am sure that she too felt that she was stepping back in time.
Lovely warm light and well handled shadow areas.
Excellent.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hi Rosemary!
I suppose the dragon must be a work left by a visitor. Somehow, people usually destroy a lot this kind of places. But in this case it adds some mystery to the house. Good composition with the woman passing the door. The colours of the walls are great!
