A CAVE THAT ISN'T A CAVE, a photo from Shaanxi, Central

Photographer's Note

I was surprised at the end of Shaanxi Museum when I saw a recreation of a corner of Zhongshan Cave, a place created around Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420). Even being a copy, it is amazing in its beauty and give visitors a chance to see how one of 18 caves is.

Fiquei surpreso ao fim da exposi鈬o do Museu de Shaanxi quando encontrei esse recanto recriado da caverna de Zhongshan, local criado na dinastia Jin Oriental (entre 317 e 420). Mesmo sendo uma cia, � uma obra admir疱el e leva o visitante a conhecer ao menos uma das 18 grutas do complexo.

Hello Jorge,
This is a beautifully recreated cave. It is hard for an amateur like me to tell any difference between these statues and the original 4th century pieces. You had a fairly good light so the photo is sharp enough and gives us a good idea of the impact of this place.

Jorge, that museum room recreates the original cave atmosphere. It is a successful copy where sculptures on stones are placed. I recognize the Buddha statue in the middle. Many statuettes are carved in the rock on the left. Excellent resolution.

Hello Jorge, Although it is reconstructed it looks like a genuine. Beautiful Buddha statues. excellent presetation in spite of the difficult light conditions.
