Photographer's Note
Zingzingbar....this is the name of this place. From here steep gradient starts for Baralacha Pass.
Zingzingbar is a road building camp and tea house situated 18 km from Bara-lacha-la on the Manali to Leh road in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an altitude of around 4,270 m.
We had a break at our journey from keylong to baralacha pass.As our Driver (Ajay) announced that this is the last tent upto baralacha, nothing will be available after this area untill after crossing baralacha pass and reach to bharatpur and that was long way from baralacha.we tooik some foods and tea here. The smoky "chay" there is very memorable to me with an omlate.:P . This area is very airy, and very much cold as compare to baralacha considering their height.
Me and ajay went out of car and ajay made 2 pegs of RC for both of us. I took this shot on sitting over a rock enjoying the nature.

Hello
Nice color contrasts, almost too saturated on the yellow and blue to my mind, but the browns of the mountains are awesome

Hello Mrityunjoy
This is a very interesting picture. The bright colours of the tents stand out against the dark terrain. The snow capped mountains complete a very pleasing scene that would have been difficult to achieve in cloudy conditions.

Hello Mrityunjoy - Your note made me feel as if I was on the journey with you: I am used to long journeys in wild places but this shot brings home to me how difficult travel can be in your part of the world. The colourful tea tents would be a welcome sight for any traveler and I can imagine that the bright colours look like a beacon of comfort as one approaches them. The landscape is harsh and wild... I like that. Warm regards Rosemary
