Photographer's Note

Taal (ta-al')Lake is a body of water that formed in the crater of Taal volcano. Taal volcano's last eruption was in 1965. It was devastating and deadly. It is still active and has been restless since 1991. The island encircled by the lake is the new volcano crater. That is why the Pilipinos call it the volcano within a volcano. Taal Lake is approximately 60 miles south of the City of Manila, on the island of Luzon, Philippines.

Taal Lake is a very picturesque place. The lake and the areas around it are good places for hiking, horseback riding, swimming, sail boarding, camping, golfing and other outdoor activities. There are lots of fine restaurants. It is also a good place for photo opportunities, but be aware that a lot of times it could get cloudy and foggy.

I was lucky on this particular trip because the fog and clouds parted at about 4:00 PM allowing me to take nice pictures. I did not use any tripod. I just keep on clicking.
