Photographer's Note

Taken a few minutes after dawn at the summit of Adam's Peak (one of the holiest places in Sri Lanks, venerated by Mulsims, Bhuddists and Christians). On the very summit there is a giant footprint of Adam/Muhammed/Bhudda, depending which faith you hold.

This was taken on the first day of Poya, one of the holiest days for Sri Lankan Bhuddists. There was a real crush of people and it took some effort to get a vantage point above the crowd. One of the few times I've decided to just take the photo and not worry about whether I am being rude or disrupting the ceremony. It was so crowded and there was such noise that I don't think I disturbed too many people...

Converted to b/w with Channel Mixer and then a little Curves to bring out the contrast.
