Photographer's Note

Occupying the former 16th century home of
Francisco Tostado, this striking colonial building restored into a museum � also known as Museo de la Familia Dominicana del Siglo XIX � showcases the lifestyle of 19th century middle class Dominican families with model displays of bedroom and library furniture to a charcoal oven kitchen, sewing room, and tea lounge. Items were collected from various prominent families to recreate each scene. The building痴 double Gothic-Elizabethan window makes it the only house in the Americas with this architectural feature.

Hello Gerrit,

I wonder if you were attracted to this scene because of the strong contrasts of white and black. The white wall makes a lovely canvas for the tree shadows, the street sign, the lamp and the window recesses. The black, anti-parking spheres have a very strong influence, too.
It's a very well composed photograph as well as a well exposed one.

Maar uw foto ook met veel diepte en perspectief.

Hello Gerrit, a good point of view that leads our eyes along the street.
There are some interesting features, and it looks a tidy and well cared for place.
I especially like the shadow of the tree on the white wall.
