Photographer's Note

Grenada - the spice island of the Caribbean famed for its production of Nutmeg. However after Hurricane Ivan in Sept 04 most of the spice crop was wiped out. We were on the first cruise ship to arrive there after the hurricane and even in Dec 04 there were many homes still without roofs. We stated chatting with our taxi driver and he said that the only real way forward now is tourism. We went on a wonderful tour of the island. The photo is one of the "Divers Association". Whose sole income is to jump / dive into a pool about 20 - 30' for the tourists. All the islanders we met were quite genuine in their greetings and it is an island I will return to.
