Photographer's Note

This is Mont des Art in Central Brussels. Mont des art is locted between Place Royale and Place de l Albertine. It used to be a densely populated area called Quartier Saint Roches. However, King Leopold II (1835-1909) had ideas about a Mont des Art and ordered the landscape architect Pierre Vacherot to design a 'temporary' garden in the slope between the two squares. The idea of a Mont des art came back in the mid-1900s when the Park gave way for the Congress Palace, the Royal Library and new geometric garden.
