Photographer's Note

This is the building that houses the Brussels Stock Exchange. It is situated not far from Grand Place in Boulevard Ansprach. The building was constructed between 1868 and 1873. The architect was Leon Peter Suy. There are two sculptures of lions here. One lion looks up and could be seen in this picture and another lion that has a bent back. These sculptured were created by the two brothers Joseph and Jacques Jacquet. Above the main entrance there sculptures representing good and evil that were ceated by Victor de Haen. The peristyle is adorned with carvings of flowers and fruits.
