Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This is a detailed sculpture from the exterior of Reims Cathedral. If you look closely, you will see just how intricate the carving is.

The squatting rhino is being supported by another figure and, in turn, is supporting a figure playing a harp. Above is another figure.

Around the sides is a frieze of flowers and figures.

It really is THE most amazingly decorated cathedral.

I can imagine just how awe-inspiring this must have been to visitors to the cathedral who would never have seen a rhino and could possibly have classed it as a mystical being, like the angels and apostles around it!

I will add a second close-up of the sculptures as a workshop here .

I wish you a happy day, Bev :-)
