The Splendour of Hanseatic Architecture

We池e in the Altstadt (Old Town) of Lbeck now, which is located on a small island in the River Trave. The photo of taken at the old Market Square and shows Lbecker Rathaus (Lbeck Town Hall), one of the finest examples of Brick Gothic architecture, a style commonly in Northern Europe and especially around the Baltic Sea and often found in cities that were a member of the Hanseatic League in the Middle Ages. Lbecker Rathaus is one of the biggest medieval town halls in Germany. It was built in the early 14th century, but was extended several times in later centuries. As often with brick walls in photos, I found getting the sharpness right a pretty tricky business, so I hope it'll turn out all right.
