Photographer's Note

The glacis of old Rethymnon fortress, erected by the Venetians between 1571 and 1590 and called fortetsa in Greek, was full of flowers a few days before May 1st when all Cretans go mad, decorate their cars with flower wreaths, roast enormous masses of meat, dance and celebrate spring.
Some colleague intentionally misunderstood me and suspected me and my wife to have had sex on this wonderful carpet - which apparently was not advisable as this kind of activity would have attracted spectators from all sides and even from above!
Taken on film with Canon A1, scan from paper print.
