Castello di Sant但natolia di Narco (PG)
Sant'Anatolia di Narco is a pleasant village on the shores of the Nera river, located on a small river terrace, at the foot of Mount Coscerno, at 328 meters above sea level, set between beautiful mountains and framed by downy oak and hornbeam forests Maple and Aleppo pine.
The origins of the settlement are not well documented, but the human presence in the pre-Roman era is certain.
Of this era, in the necropolis of the word the Plan, finds of pottery and funerary ornaments were found, now exhibited at the Archaeological Museum of Florence.
The name derives from "Nar", ancient name of the Nera river, from which also the term "Naharci" originated for the inhabitants of Sabine origin who had retired to this place, in the hills, to avoid the floods of the Nera.
