Photographer's Note

A close-up showing part of the bow of a traditional Maltese fishing boat called a Luzzu. Painted in bright colours - blue, red, green and yellow, they are an iconic sight in the bays and harbours all around the island. As well as the bright colours the boats usually have a pair of eyes painted on the bow, a tradition that is believed to date back to Phoenician times.

This particular boat was up on the quayside for some maintenance which allowed me to get close for the shot.
