Photographer's Note

The Castle of Przegorzaly was built as a villa by Professor Szyszko-Bohusz and expanded to its present size during World War II. Now it is the Institute of Polish Studies (studying the culture of Polish minorities spread around the World) of the Jagiellonian University. Located close to it is the University Congress Centre with a comfortable hotel, a large conference hall, and discussion rooms.

From the terraces of the villa you can enjoy the picturesque landscape of the valley of the Vistula against the background of green, forest-coated hills with an 11th century Benedictine Abbey atop one of them. Under good weather conditions, there is a beautiful view of the mountain region extending south of Cracow.
