Photographer's Note

The main river of the Moutatal is called, who would have guessed, Muota. I was told that the word "Muota" stands for wild or rough. Sadly, nowadays the Muota is heavily regulated due to power plants, often almost dry. Due to excessive rainfalls in the days before, we were lucky to see it in full glory though. The same waterfall a few days later was merely a trickle.

And for those that spotted a typo above, some local subtleties regarding spelling: The river is called Muota, the valley is the Muotatal and the town and commune is Muotathal.

Tomorrow we'll visit some locals on an alp.
