Stephen W. Hawking, the Cambridge University physicist and best-selling author who roamed the cosmos from a wheelchair, pondering the nature of gravity and the origin of the universe and becoming an emblem of human determination and curiosity, died early Wednesday at his home in Cambridge, England. He was 76.

哲ot since Albert Einstein has a scientist so captured the public imagination and endeared himself to tens of millions of people around the world".

Dr. Hawking did that largely through his book 鄭 Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes, published in 1988. It has sold more than 10 million copies and inspired a documentary film by Errol Morris. His own story was the basis of an award-winning 2014 feature film, 典he Theory of Everything.

In 2011 I was in Cambridge. I had the great pleasure to visit the Trinity College in company of my University friend who is astrophysicist and works at the Trinity. She was a personal friend of Hawking family. I could visit the Library and the dining rooms for students. It was a memorable visit.

Yesterday was also the anniversary of birth of Albert Einstein and the International Day of Pi Number. What a coincidence.

的f aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn稚 turn out very well for the Native Americans.
