Photographer's Note

Looking towards the Jaws of Borrowdale over Derwentwater. The Jaws are guarded by Castle Crag a very steep but beautiful 1000ft hill. Castle Crag was also inhabited during Iron Age times as there has been bits found from the old settlement.

The hills fade to grey in the distance and the lake steamer is just about to call at the Lodore Landing to drop and pick up passengers on it's counter clockwise return (learned a new Americanism recently)to Kewsick.
