Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

If you have ever been to The Lake District, you will probably have been told about, or been to see, Ashness Bridge. It is an old packhorse bridge which straddles Barrow Beck. The beck has had so many visitors over the years that the surrounding stones have been worn smooth.

Our TE group decided that it would be a perfect place for a group of dedicated photographers to hone their skills!

Although a very popular place, we were lucky that not many other people were present when we arrived.

The most obvious way to photograph the bridge was looking downhill, which put the sun at our backs but then, a shifting of the clouds allowed us to photograph up, towards the bridge. This was my preferred view, catching the stream tumbling towards the camera.

It was a steep walk up to Ashness Bridge and my w/s shows the effect that it had on some group members!

Mariusz also posted a shot of Ashness Bridge here but from a different angle.

Have a great day, from a sunny Lancashire, Bev :-)
