Photographer's Note

A week ago we had a little TE meeting near Keswick. The first port of call was Ashness Bridge which both Mariusz (mkamionka) and Bev (Royaldevon) have already shown you. But Mike (mjw364) and I decided to take a little walk along a track above the bridge for just a couple of hundred yards to this point where the track suddenly divides with a much steeper track heading off to the right to Walla Crag, a much higher viewpoint. We were pressed for time and so I decided just to make do with the lovely view from here.

Looking north, here we can see Derwentwater below, stretching north to the town of Keswick, seen in the distance on the right in front of the mountain which is Skiddaw (931m). Farther left and beyond you can just see Bassenthwaite Lake.

You can clearly see the fork in this little track if you click on Map:view and select "satellite" view.

ISO 100, 1/80 sec at f/13, focal length 28mm.
