Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Please click here to see a much bigger, clearer view of the photograph.

After we, the TE group, left Borrowdale (shown on my last post) we headed up towards the slate mine at the top of Honister Pass.

I have never actually stopped at the slate mine before so I have never see this particular view of the pass!
I have to tell you, it took my breath away!

As we waited to take shots, the sun appeared and bathed the slope in sunlight.

If you look carefully, you will see a car tackling the uphill journey on this narrow road. It is the B5289 road and it climbs from Borrowdale, to a height of 1167 feet, before plunging down this precipitous 4:1 grade to end at Buttermere far below.

I will add a w/s of another photographer!

I wish you a lovely day,
Bev :-)
