Photographer's Note

This is another shot of the Yorkshire Dales taken during a short holiday in 1992.

My friend knew the region quite well and as she drove us around, I kept telling her to stop so I could take another photo from the roadside.

The Yorkshire Dales is an area of great natural beauty in northern England, a large part of which has been designated as one of England and Wales' protected national parks.

Britain's most famous long distance footpath, the Pennine Way passes through the Yorkshire Dales, as does the Settle - Carlisle Railway - one of Britain's most spectacular train journeys.

Tourism plays an increasing part in the life of the Yorkshire Dales today, having featured in several British television series and Hollywood films - including the Hollywood movie "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves".

Tech: Scanned, brightness +3, contrast +6, resized for TE and sharpened.
