Queen痴 Reflections

Here痴 yet another college in Oxford, but in order to avoid them from becoming boring, here痴 a more original version, caught in the reflection of a mirror. I added a more traditional version to the workshop as well.

This is Queen痴 College (Collegium Reginae), located on High Street and founded in 1341 by Robert de Eglesfield in honour of Queen Philippa of Hainault, the wife of Edward III. The main entrance, seen here, was built between 1709 and 1759 and designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. Also Christopher Wren designed some buildings for Queen痴 College.

Later that day during the City and College Tour, the guide took us to another college, Wadham, and told more about the quadrangle, i.e. the enclosed courtyard in front of the college. He pointed out though that it should not be called a courtyard in Oxford, it is to be referred to as a quadrangle! Also, no one is allowed to walk on the grass, unless you are a fellow of the college (or the gardener obviously) with a fine of 」10 per footstep if you are caught walking on the lawn anyway.

I have posted two similar shots before: one from Copenhagen and one from Qu饕ec.
