I am afraid you are already bored with my Chinese pictures, pity as I have much more and I was so fascinated by China. But what can be done. So a moment of break.

I am inspired here by Ike's beautiful gallery of Edinburgh. Many Trekkers have visited this magnificent city so I propose this view from the castle.
It is for me strange thing that there a lot of pictures made from Calton Hill but only two (and quite a long time ago) views like this. And for me it is even better. Here you can see the most important monuments of Edinburgh - from left to the right: The Scott Monument, Balmoral Hotel, Calton Hill with the column National Monument of Scotland,and if you have a good sight also the view point, the Waverley railway station, the green dome of the Bank and even far right the tower of St. Giles. Also Scottish Gallery in the middle. Fantastic that there are so much of green everywhere.

beautiful panorama of the town, interesting sharpness to see all these monuments and towers, good contrast for the view with the green park in the Fg, well photographed and presented.

This is indeed a splendid view over the city right out to the coast, the Firth of Forth I believe. Loads to see and all in exquisite detail. I like the division between the main elements of the composition.

Your pictures from China don't bore me, but neither do pictures from the great city of Edinburgh. This is such a beautiful view. The city looks at its best under these circumstances, some fine light, some nice clouds and blue in the sky and attractive green trees. Very well captured.

Hello Malgo,
It's absolutely a nice view, and it's strange that it is so seldom shown here as you say. It shows a great panorama of the city with lots of landmarks. There is a lot of grey and brown in Edinburgh, but in this photo there are also some nice red features surrounded by green on the hillside to the right. The sharpness of this photo is impressive. It can take a huge enlargement very well.

yes, its always good to shake up the gallery a bit, the problem is once I leave posting photos from one country, I often don't come back! Or at least not for a long time, but I hope to see more of your China pics

I also think about showing more local Vancouver photos too.
but THEN I feel i'm missing out on my travel photos!!!!
argh!!!! haha

you show a wonderful overview of this great city, on a clear sunny day this city is absolutely beautiful. the greens are stunning, that was my #1 surprise when I visited.

love seeing the 'tops' of the monuments spread out like this. wonderful overview

The wideness of the area is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the trees and of the buildings. The clouds have a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

But Edinburgh is indeed wonderful to look at.

C'est une bien belle ville.Il y a de tr鑚 beaux parcs bien verts et aussi un beau plan d'eau au loin. J'aime bien ce ciel qui h駸ite entre bleu et gris.

Great to open a note and see a gesture for me, thanks, appreciated.
Edinburgh from the slopes just under the castle, beautiful green on late spring time and distinct sight of the monuments.
If I can add: the black tower opposite to the Scott-Monument is the Assembly-Hall, which is one of the specially designed building in this magnificent city.

Hi Malgo,

A superb high pov overlooking the city and offering a wide angled panoramic view. Good sharpness and saturation. I like the diffused light and repetition of the towers and steeples.

trovo le foto della Cina molto interessanti, ma puoi anche interrompere per poi proseguire pi� avanti.
Questa vista � molto bella e contiene molti monumenti e architetture di questa bella citt�, ma si pu� vedere anche il molto verde di cui � circondata e anche il mare.
Una vista molto ampia e completa.

You open up and horizon for many of us ^_^

Once again you displayed your skill in showing partial hill and partial cityscape of Edinburgh, i understand that Ike (from Israel) has aplenty of Edinburgh shots, wondering which angle did he take from compare to yours

Nevertheless, nice greenery and the cloudy sky makes your shot nostalgic

I cannot remember to have seen a picture of Edinburgh taken from this point of view.
However this spot is a perfect viewpoint.
There's a beautiful light and very attractive colours on the picture. Especially the green foreground looks amazing.
Excellent sharpness and depth.
