Photographer's Note
Taken at the same time as my last picture but looking in the opposite direction, this is again Talisker Bay on the Isle of Skye and here a fellow photographer is heading along the rocky shore with his camera and tripod over his shoulder. I've no idea who he was but he was intent on taking some photos of the outcrop of rock in the distance. But we did spend a little time talking to his wife who, like so many photographers' spouses, seemed just a little neglected here.
Apart from its proximity to the Talisker malt whisky distillery, Talisker Bay is also of considerable geological interest on account of differing adjacent layers of sedimentary and volcanic rock formations.
ISO 160, 1/320 sec at f/11, focal length 28mm.

Dear John,
A photographer, braving nature: a very good composition with the lonely man against the high cliffs in the background. Lights and colours are also very appealing.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello John,
Your picture is again wonderful with the three subjects, sea, rocks and beach with a walker, on a difficult place to go.
Sharpness and colours make your picture lovely.
Composition and presentation are wonderful.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello John,
My wife has some tales to tell in that respect! The photographer is well placed in the frame and makes an effective counterpoint to the rocky outcrop. Excellent management of the light and shadow contrasts. Overall lights and colours are very agreeable and the clarity excellent.

Bonjour John,
Le photographe ne prend pas la route la plus facile pour obtenir le r駸ultat qu'il veut. Il pourrait se faciliter la chose en marchant un peu plus sur la gauche.La falaise est belle et le ciel offre un arri鑽e plan parfait.
Amicalement

Hello John,
Since I can't see any drone I draw the immediate conclusion that this wasn't Craig. Even then, this man fills the beach well and is wearing at least one little red item. He would have reasonable chances to find good photos among these steep hills on the sunny day. The rocks are attractive, but his presence made your photo better than what he probably managed.
Kind regards,
Gert
PS I have replied to your comments on my photo today.

Ciao John
che bella la luce, hai lavorato bene sull'esposizione, sono bene illuminate anche le parti in ombra.
Perfetta la presenza e la posizione dell'uomo a bilanciare l'immagine.
Buon we

Hello John,
Skye offers so many fine scenic opportunities. You know, Ike is going there this week.
I like how you have used the photographer as a focal image and a starting point for moving across the scene. The rocky foreshore makes a great lead from photographer to the sea-surrounded rock.
You have controlled the light well with such contrasts of light and shadows.
The sky just couldn't have been better, clouds parallel with the sea's surface but then soaring and billowing against the blue sky.
Have a great w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello John
Great image. The inclusion of the photographer makes all the difference here. And his red hat surely is the finishing touch, isn't it?
Cheers

Hi John,
Thought that I would check up on you! Love the Skye sunshine here. The only time that I have visited the island was when I camped with my son aged 10. It was May and extremely cold, wet and windy making the place look all rather gloomy.
A very fine image John and well done for catching the red hat.
Best wishes, Ann

Bonjour John
I like very Commandant Cousteau with his red hat looking for a good PoV to have a seascape in his camera. I like the curve of the cliff and the peak at distance, the cumulus in the blue sky, the boulders ending in the green part of the ground.
Wram regards

Caro Giovanni
I can see why this is a magnet for photographers. Not only have you captured some unique and breath-taking landscape, you've caught it in such wonderful, mesmerising light. The inclusion of the photographer serves the dual purpose of adding another element of interest to the shot, but also gives us a sense of scale against those towering cliffs. I hope you got to sample the whiskarian delights of this beautiful pocket of Scotland.
Un abbraccio

Hi John,
this is so beautiful!!
Challenging but so well used light with perfectly balanced exposition.
Very well thought through composition: I like the rocks in the foreground and a lovely sculpted cliffs in the centre of attention. The sky was also beautiful and the photographer adds a humorous element.
Amazing clarity and sharpness! I don't think my camera would be able to take a picture of such high quality.
Excellent work,
M

Hello John,
Wonderful view of this rocky beach in the sunny day. I like the stones and the sharp rock. this fellow photographer has quite a heavy equipment. The life of the wife of the photographer must be boring, better solution is to became a photographer too. Marvelous landscape.

Hi John
sorry my friend, I've missed a couple of your latest posts.
hmmm...as much as i enjoyed the opposite view, i like this one even more. This would be an excellent place to fly the drone, right up and down the coastline.
very attractive combination of light and shadow, and man, can I have those clouds in ALL of my shots :)
beauty, lots to like here.
cheers
