Photographer's Note

In common with most of northern Europe the UK has had plenty of snow so far this winter. The first snow arrived last Thursday all down the east coast. On Saturday we drove to the North Yorkshire Moors expecting a lot more snow than we had on the coast. The reverse was true and the trees had already lost their covering. Since then there has been a lot more snow, temperatures are constantly below zero and we expect the first White Christmas for many years. In fact, the UK doesn稚 usually get much snow, so when it does snow chaos reigns, as the authorities don稚 have the expensive snow clearing equipment of other countries used to snow all winter.

This is Beggar痴 Bridge in the village of Glaisdale. I was standing under the railway bridge which had lots of icicles. I posted an image from here in my early TE days and you will find all the history of the bridge there. There is quite a romantic legend attached to it.

Following TE Christmas tradition here is my Christmas card to wish all TE Members and their families a very Happy Christmas. For those who do not celebrate Christmas I wish you a Happy Holiday Season.
