Photographer's Note

A little picture taken during a recent three day visit to the Isle of Skye, here taken from just half a mile or so from the comfortable hotel in Broadford where we were staying.

This is Broadford Bay on a very unsettled afternoon, bright sun shining but heavy clouds rolling over the distant Isle of Pabay which you can just make out in the distance. And in a few minutes the Heavens opened and it poured with heavy rain.

Broadford, with a population of around just 600, is the second largest town on Skye, second to Portree. The Isle of Pabay is of interest in that it only has one single house and yet, curiously, it also has its own postage stamps as you can see here!

ISO 160, 1/320 sec at f/8, focal length 42mm.
