Photographer's Note
Taken during a visit to Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, I was intrigued by a permanent display in the main hall by the artist, Sophie Cave, called "Floating Heads". This is a collection of fifty hanging head sculptures, each displaying a different facial expression and all cast in white, though they are variously illuminated by different coloured lights as they freely rotate on their suspension cords.
As I watched these heads I was aware of a young boy watching me with my camera and I was happy to click the shutter as a "laughing" head seemed to turn around to look at him.
You can read more about the "Floating Heads" installation here.

Hi John,a beautiful artwork from the art gallery of Glasgow,i seen something like in a pavillon of EXPO Milan 2015,but the scenery is truly different,a magnificent architechture in background made in a very rich style. A perfect capture with great detail everywhere, not easy in this difficult interior light. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello John,
It pays to be able to focus on more than one thing. This is not just an interesting and original exhibition/installation, but you also spotted the boy very well and timed the photo perfectly. I usually hope to find visitors some way interacting with the art, when I take photos in museums, but it is equally amusing to see the art interacting with a visitor, and the visitor interacting with the photographer. This is a splendid composition, and what an impressive building this looks like.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John,
Oh, it's so nice to see this work of art, I remembering seeing it when I visited Glasgow, which must have been some ten years ago. I really like how you balanced the composition between all the heads and the grand architecture of the museum. The boy was very well included too and you handled the lighting perfectly.

Hello John, Good title. Who is watching who you were watching the boy, the boy was watching you , and you both were watched by the white heads. Original and amusing installation. I have seen somewhere in museum the heads and the voices but I can't remember where it could be. The building of this museum is also beautiful. Splendid composition.
Kind regrads MAlgo

Hi John
Very interesting exhibition! I like your POV including it, the building and the young boy watching you in a boring mood taking the picture, one mask seems to tell him "smile"!
Very accurate moment well taken!
"Image la sauvette" for sure!

Hello John,
A splendid composition blessed with superb lights and colours and excellent sharpness. The architecture is magnificent and the artwork original and interesting, but it is perhaps the boy with his rather haunted expression who steals the show.

Hello, John!
Very nice perspective to show the beautiful architecture of this place, with interesting and curious masks hanging from the ceiling and the boy giving more life and interest to the composition! Wonderful job!

Hi John
first off, you asked about the spelling of harbour...here in Canada we're supposed to use harbour, colour, etc....but in the States they do not. In fact, if I type in harbor, my laptop cpu tells me its misspelled :) what is it in Scotland?
you're a clever clever man, excellent title for this one.
A great title makes the shot even better dont' you think?
I"m sure this photo created alot of various facial expressions on its viewers too hahaha.
the presence of the boy makes all the difference, providing that comedic sort of relief for the floating heads. neat shot! crisp and clear all the way too. cheers

Hi John,
welcome back. I hope you are back.
When you commented on my photos recently I was in Italy for a week and now I am still getting back to normal. So I didn't have a chance to even see my new photos yet.
I am so happy to hear from you again.
This is a great advert for Glasgow. I have never been there. Sometimes I complain that there are in my area not too many attractive cities. Glasgow is not exactly my area but it is one of cities which I didn't see yet. I would need a whole weekend at least since it is a long drive from here.
Very encouraging museum. Great interior picture. I like the masks asymmetrically placed in the frame.
Beautiful work,
M

Hello John,
Those masks looks same pattern on display, but I found they differ a bit from one to other. A POV with off-center placement of the main subject, allow good view of the architecture design of the inner hall of the museum, and as a bonus a young man was watching you in action. Immaculate quality.
Bravo and a nice sunday,
Ike

Hello John, this is such a well balanced shot, perfect!
The floating heads initially would seem a little weird, but they are ideal for making a picture such as this.
The boy is essential to your composition, as well as aiding you with a great title.
The architecture is fabulous, and is a fitting bg.
Everything in excellent sharpness.
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.

Ciao John
Saluti
Carlo
