Photographer's Note

The early settlers of the Durham, PA area were of German and Dutch ancestry. As one strolls though the cemetery one can still find old headstones inscribed in German. (I have yet to see any inscribed in Dutch or even Plattdeutsch, but some are so worn that they are difficult to read). The church was originally Dutch Reformed but merged with the Lutheran denomination some time in the 1800痴. Today it is an Evangelical Lutheran Church with an active congregation.

I had been to that church earlier and had posted a photo here to which I applied an infra red plug in. The results were just OK but they were missing that "wow" factor, so I made a promise to myself that whenever I buy a real infra red filter I will return to that church to take more pictures.

Infra red is fascinating to me in that it turns summer into winter. The dark red filter turns green colors white while making the blue sky a dark gray/black color.
