Photographer's Note
I photographed these eagle rays off Bora Bora in French Polynesia. I first saw them at distance, materializing out of the void, and dropped down on the sand flat so I could catch them as they flew overhead. With underwater photography you usually want to photograph subjects close, using a flash to add color and overcome the blue shift that happens at depth. This wasn't possible and these rays were way out of my range, but I shot anyway. In PhotoShop I was able to get pretty good results with the RAW image by adjusting the white balance to where it looked natural. The image here is what I saw.

Ted,
Great how we can see the mouth and gills. The two different colors of the water, blue and purplish, is nice and makes it stand out.

Nice photo, however, I don't understand why it is in the Micronesia folder as it was taken in Bora Bora ?
