Photographer's Note

The Chilean flamingo is one of five or six species of flamingos in the world. They live high up in the altiplano flatlands in the northern Andes or along the coast in the Patagonia, beginning on Chilo Island.
That's where I took this shot, in a place called Caulin, where the tide exposes hundreds of meters of sea-floor, allowing many birds to find the invertebrates they eat.
