Photographer's Note

This is a view from Place de l'Albertine, Brussels towards what is called Mont des Art which is a transition between the 爽pper and 鼠ower town. There are many museums theatres and historical monuments in this area. It is also close to Grand Place and the Royal palace. The equestrian statue in the foreground is the 3rd king of Belgium Albert I (1875-1934). Further up Old England or the the Musical Instrument Museum is seen to the left (with the cupola) and the white church in the background is St. Jacob-on-the-Coudenberg. It was built in classic style from 1776 to 1780. In the Royal Square in front of the church there is an equestrian statue of Godfrey de Bouillon (1058-1100). He was Duke of Lower Lorraine, and one of the leaders of the First Crusade to the Holy Land.
