Photographer's Note
Taken two days ago during a brief interval of fine sunshine as a tractor with its laden trailer makes its way along a narrow country lane toward Lochlyoch farm beneath Tinto Hill.
Tinto Hill, at 711 metres (2,333 feet), is the highest hill in Lanarkshire and here retains its snow covering from a few days earlier. You can see another view of this hill in snow taken from a different direction here.
You can see the location if you click on Map:view but unfortunately I can't give you a link to explore this road at street level as Google's little yellow man has not walked along this particular little road!

Hi John!
I love those hills in the bg!
I really enjoyed this picture specially for its colors, exposure, chosen pov and composition! At first, that tractor looked like the car of a "super-hero"!
TFS - congrats,

Hello John ,
I 've sometimes tried to take pictures of tractors in the countryside , but one must be very reactive . You've captured the scene at exactly the right moment (tractor in the curve) , to compose very well this picture . This is a great bonus for the scene , thar is extremely intereresting with attractive elements (road , fences , tree , fram , moutain) , under a beautiful light and sky .

Morning John...
well, at least its morning here 530 am.
about my last photo, yes....i've heard about those names for the Vespa before, i think daniel wrote about it in one or two of his scooter shots :) thanks.
isn't it funny how a simple tractor can provide a fine photographic opportunity! take a look around, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the rustic elegance shines through.
the warm glow of light obviously helps, and the snow capped top is the icing on the cake.
whats not to love about this dirty scene :) makes me want to get my rubber boots on and grab a shovel lol
cool scene
enjoy your day

Hi John
excellent shot this. An opportunist shot that not everybody would have got just right but this is superb. The scenery alone is amazing but the red trailer and tractor just make it so lived in and effective. It is a perfectly composed and executed shot John and a real quality image. Love it!
Regards - Brian.

Helo John,
so many contrasting details in this photo with an excellent light make it really attention catching. The idea of placing the bright red truck in the whole composition proved to be fantastic.
Thanks for sharing

Hi John!
The red vehicle makes it a good composition and of course the warm afternoon light in contrast with the snowy hills.
Good quality and perfect POV and timing.

Hi again,
If there was more snow the hill would be nice place for skiing. Quite high hill, have you been on the summit? How this simple tractor with trailer full of dung can look so attractive. Very nice light. Beautiful place for hiking, why the yellow man was lazy?
Warm regrads

Hi John,
The red tractor immediately caught my eyes in the thumbprint. It definitely adds interest to the picture, even if the landscape here is beautiful enough to be worth a photo, even without it. A warm sunshine adds a lot of pleasure.
Kind regards

Hello John,
You have done well to capture a slice of blue sky. We have not seen it much during the last few weeks!
A very nicely composed shot with the red trailer strongly positioned and good leads to this focal image. The light is lovely, the low sun creating long shadows across the frame.
I particularly like how clouds appear to be peeping over the snowy sumit.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
I like your shot of Buttermere. I was sad not to have been able to get together with evereyone on that initial TE meeting!

Hi John,, Now this little Scottish Hill looks familiar.. you have caught it at a superb timing with the light just at a great angle.. I hope you dont mind my workshop with the dissapearance of the telephone pole-- maybe one day they will become extinct.. Red Tractor is just superb as fg.. how are the plans for TE meet going.. Rich

Hello John,
I have become familiar with this hill through your photos. The snow cap that it wears in this one is lovely. The red tractor draws the attention to the farm nestling at the foot of the hill, and very well placed in the frame too. The light and soft clouds are lovely.
A great shot.
Best wishes, Ann

Hello John,
this is a well composed shot. The farm vehicle is perfectly placed and the tree leans inward to frame the picture and almost to point us to the snow covered hill. Really nice light too.

Caro Giovanni
This looks like morning sunshine, it's so fresh and crisp. But looking at your exif data, it says that the shot was taken at 2:30pm. Is that correct? If it is, wow, what strange light conditions. But such beautiful light conditions. I love how it just illuminates the colours and the wonderful shadows it throws. The dusting of snow on the mountains is exquisite. And the addition of the old tractor is the icing on the cake.
Thanks for sharing, un abbraccio

Hello John - The colours and light make this shot so special and the Scottish weather blessed you with a combination of cloud and winter sunshine. The red trailer makes a strong FP as its journey along the road draws the eye into the picture. Oh how I would love to see this with my own eyes, the hills dusted with snow and the charming rural landscapes of Scotland. I shall be back one day! Warm regards rosemary
