Photographer's Note

Beypazari, Ankara is famous with its old mansions with expectional architecture. Those houses are built for old ottoman traditions, having two seperate partitions called haremlik, which is for women; and selamlik, which is for men. Even there's two bells on doors to ring, one for the women and one for the men. Gender of guests were being understood by the sound of the bells, and someone of same gender would open the door to let guest in.

Another interesting thing about those mansions is a tradition of leaving one room of the house half-built. this is done because the owner of the house wants to show god that he hasn't finished all his work in this world.
