Ha! Ha! Silvio, this looks as if the figure has been swallowed whole!
I can understand how this links with Dante's Inferno, with the circles of Hell! The open mouth, with protruding teeth and staring eyes are quite horrific - but not to this guy!!

This is an excellent, sharp photograph of the Gothic Church! You show how it displays the character of a castle, with its fortified tower.
I love to see the flowers surrounding the building, confirming its sense of religious rather than powerful use.

You were very fortunate to come across these two, young ladies, for they add a very special 'Mid-Summer' atmosphere to the photograph, as well as being excellent subjects.
For me, you have composed this beautifully, the figures well placed, with sufficient details of the f/g to create a sense of the setting, whilst the b/g is interesting and creates a good sense of depth.

The lady seated in the w/s would have made a photograph worthy of of a main post!

You must have had a real problem deciding which of these two beautiful photographs of Cadgwith to use as your main! However, since we can see them both, the decision is less of a problem!!

I'm sure, many people would have had this sort of picture in their minds if you had asked for a typical English village! The scene immediately conjures up calm as well as beauty, inspired by your excellent compositions.

I would not immediately think of big buildings in Brazil, more a rich, rural landscape, but you have shown us a great diversity.
The horizontal lines of the bus station make a good, compositional, separation line from the vertical bank buildings. The Brazilian Bank on the left is the most interesting.

Seeing this large and beautiful butterfly from this angle makes me realise that predators may interpret it as something quite different! Maybe a creature with horns!

As always, this is a stunning, sharp photograph of the butterfly, enjoying a tasty meal from the clover.

Your capture of the items in the museum is both sharp and very nicely, symmetrically composed.
When I study such items, it makes me wonder about the urge to create weapons, though all the items reveal the skill of craftsmen.

My immediate impression, when viewing your photograph, was the fine sense of composition. The statue is placed very well, so that it makes a natural, diagonal connection with the tower of the City Chambers building.
It looks like a beautiful day, with people enjoying the sunshine, which adds a warmth to the atmosphere.

The church tower was a well-selected feature, giving this sense of height, with the clocks as focal points, but the inclusion of the flowers, in the f/g, adds warmth and colour; a very lovely, natural border.

The musician, dressed so dynamically in red, makes a superb focal feature but set against such a wonderful background, she gains even more prestige!
In England, the music is all Glastonbury Festival, but I am sure I would appreciate this remarkable lady and her setting even more!

Hello Ian,

WE usually see this type of photograph detailing ancient colonnades but this is equally effective, in fact, maybe more so because of its uniqueness! I love the contrasts of materials as well as the aging exterior of the shops! This could be a film setting!!
I wonder, is the price of a snooker game still 6d?

I have enjoyed seeing drone shots of places more and more. With them, it is possible to see spectacular, new viewpoints of familiar places and understand how they relate to their surroundings.
This is a photograph (allied to your notes) with so much information, each part extremely interesting. The dome and its surrounding area looks so spacious and pristine. I'm sure it has very special memories for you.

I was interested to know how this place had gained its name but your notes explained that perfectly.

The whole 'LOVE' sign was an interesting feature but your main post, using the the heart-shaped 'O' as a natural frame is the most creative and eye-catching.

I just wonder if anyone comes back to remove their lock if the love relationship fails!!

We tend to like sunny, bright weather but there is always a time for this type of weather, which is wet, grey and a tad gloomy. But well photographed, revealing the dark clouds, the reflected light on the wet surfaces all in a good composition, is absolutely full of atmosphere!
