I really like the repetition of the vertical shapes in this photo. It has a stark yet whimsical quality. Groups of native birch trees are very rare in Alberta. Could these be trembling aspen?

Default To CanmoreKevin: Hello Kevin

You do know your native trees much more than I do and thanks to your comments I have done some research myself to discover the difference. Apparently the aspen trees do have a very particular dark shape that makes it distinct from the birch. Thanks for pointing this out to me. Its one thing to take a picture of something and quite another to say its something else.
