Wow: this is not the normal fare here on TE. And I'm intrigued: were you a photojournalist in the field? Was this a set-up, staged shot, or front-line action? Is that a smile for the camera, or a warlike grimace? Are you Robert Capa? Great monochrome docu-drama photograph.

I'm not Robert Capa, alas.
This photo has been taken during military patrol on Cambodia/Thailand border. Time of Red Khmers was over, but that wasn't safely there. So answer for your question whether it was front line-action - is no. But it isn't set-up neither.
