Smile To everlasting: Not so hard

These people actually don't have a hard life. Half the housing is modern and provided for them free of charge by the U.S. government. They old housing is gradually being vacated as the new housing is built. The people get free medical, free college, free utilities, monthly payments, and food stamps. They are free to do what the love which is fish and hunt. They are happy with this. From our perspective it would seem that they should be unhappy with what they have but they are not.

They don't have any economic opportunities as investment in their locations are virtually impossible do to their sovereignty over the lands. Therefore there are very few jobs. The only jobs are government jobs. There need for education is zero as no jobs are available for the educated or the uneducated. The lack of employment and things to do results in some sad statistics. There is a lot of drug and alcohol abuse. There is a much higher instance of suicide. But ironically the people are exceptionally happy and friendly.

I see no hope for any positive changes with the systems as they exist keep the peoples poor and dependent upon government assistance.

GiovanniG Thanks for your comments and appreciation.
