So you call them salt flats over there in the other side of the Atlantic. My British dictionary said "salt pans", but you know how those britons are...
Well they close in 1985, because - they said - of pollution into the canals which brought the water to the flats. But I think the real reason is another - pollution could be easily eliminated if there was good will. But almost every government enterprise in Italy is a failure, and they decided that it was better to favour the private company. There is another private management salt flat at S. Gilla, the lagoon where the airport is and that, I think, is going pretty well.
