Alin, I'm aware of a long and rich history of Romania and especially cities like Sibiu, Sighisoara, Brasov and other. That's clear. Being in these places I visited old cathedrals, town-halls and other must-be spots included in every guidebook. But these are monuments of our common history.
A real life rolls somewhere else. Every day life is trains, suburban streets, local buses, markets, small towns of Maramures, Transylvania and other places. And I would defend my opinion that the very real Transylvania looks like on my frame. And what's wrong with these two guys after all? Normal workers, normal men as I see it - nothing to hide or feel ashamed of. What I do like about Romania is the atmosphere of authenticity, folk-culture, relaxed life-style and much of that can be found on my photo. So I would stay by my definition of Transylvania. Regards - Marcin. |

Hi, Marcin!
There's nothing wrong with them. I just get angry everytime western nations consider Romania a gipsy country in a negative way. Yes, we have a large rromanas comunity but out ancester inhabited this land before the romans conquered Dacia, while the rromanas have asian origins (as far as I know). In essence, it really bothers me when others make mean-intended "links" between people like this and the fellons abroad, who call themselves Romanians. It's a little bit more complicated than this... Best regards! alinCiortea |
