Hello Jasmis

It appears that the man is unaware of your presence; yet with a 28mm lens, you must have been pretty close. Or maybe the gesture, with fag in hand, is telling you to f... off. Either way, it works: a superb environmental portrait. Happy New Year, by the way.

Regards

Will

Post To dta: authentic

Yes, they are still authentic, but (as in most rural communities) young people are now leaving the countryside to make money in the cities, so it's mostly old people living there and this way of living is dying out. Maybe tourism is a way to preserve some of the architecture, but then it has to be done with respect for the people still living there. And that's a difficult balancing act.

At the moment you can already spend the night in a tulou (we didn't) and there are simple restaurants inside sometimes.
