That area of shade on the right isn't doing it for me, although the jagged diagonal transition between light and shade is interesting. Maybe shifting the framing to the left a bit to include the balcony railings would have been an idea...
I like how you placed the passers-by at the bottom of the V though, and the way the direction arrow is on the light/shade transition.

Hi Ben,
I give you the way I have thought this picture and this will answer why I don't think including another balcony would be a good idea and why the sahdow is so expansive : the number of round objects included in the frame matches the number of doors, the number of standing people matches the number of windows, to get a perfect symetric feel the area of light need to be more or less equal to the area of shadow. cheers Luko |

I see what you mean about the symmetry Luko, something I hadn't considered. Maybe after a grey day here in England I'd just had enough of shadows, longing for some of that warm yellow light...
