Photographer's Note
There's a special bond that only exists between a child and it's mother. The baby elephant will grow up knowing that it can always look behind and find it's mother there watching its every step. Pretty reassuring i think.
Taken from vehicle while on game drive in Chobe national park. Chobe provided the best game viewing of all the parks i visited and if you want to see elephants, you won't be dissapointed here. Just prior to this we saw a pride of 14 lions walk across the open plain and cross the road right in front of our vehicle.
Technical

Lovely moment captured. Elephants are really amazing creatures. They seeme so smart and sensitive. This shows in you picture.
I love the composition and DOF.

I like how they both have the same posture, as if the baby is leading the mother's behaviour. Gorgeous light here. Chobe truly is one of the great wild places left on this planet. A true spectacular spectacle; loved it.

Good photo. I like the vertical lines in the photo and the uncluttered composition. I like the colors, because they are natural and not oversaturated. Tender moment you captured here. Well done.

Very lucky with the PoV, given that you were in a vehicle. Very well caught and composed. Te out of focus landscape in te background catches the mood just right.

Forgive me for female affectibility, but they are charming!!!! The impression is created, that they cheerfully march swinging trunks here and there:)) I am in love with this photo:))

Brendan,
This is a great shot! I really like the composition with the two elephants off center a little bit. The coloring is really nice also.
Thanks for sharing,
Katie
P.S. Yes, the lighting was natural in my shot of the pianist's hands. Thanks for your comment/critique
