Herero people were native from a region of Angola, they invaded Namibia many centuries ago and had many wars against the Namaqua people. The German arrived in the Namibia and submitted all the natives with extreme violence. Herero people were dressed like the Himba people, that are their relatives, anyway the German missionaries obligated them to "Dress like Christians" and then the women became to use Victorian dresses while the man used the military coats. Nowadays we can recognize a Herero women because their colorful dresses and this kind of turban. Some of this people have moved away from Namibia and we can find many of them in Botswana too. Here we can see a mother and her sons crossing a street in Maun.

O povo Herero veio de Angola para a Nam�bia h� s馗ulos, se envolvendo em uma guerra com os Namaquas. Quando os alem綟s tomaram conta da Nam�bia eles subjugaram todos estes povos com crueldade. Os missionarios obrigaram os Herero a se trajar com "dec麩cia" j� que eles se vestiam com trajes semelhantes aos da tribo Himba, seus parentes. As mulheres passaram ent縊 a usar trajes vitorianos e os homens a usar casacos militares. Hoje em dia as mulheres Herero s縊 afamadas por seus vestidos coloridos e vistosos e seus turbantes t�picos. Atualmente muitas pessoas desta tribo est縊 vivendo em Botsuana. Aqui vemos uma mulher Herero e seus filhos atravessando uma rua de Maun.
