The KING, a photo from Extreme-North, North

Photographer's Note

This is "the king" in he Waza National Park in North Cameroon.

At that time I was supervising local village water program projects around the park to fix the population (i.e. to avoid them going in the park).

Going through the park early morning and before the night I had the chance to see some animals. This is one of them.

Hope you will like him.

Picture taken from the car using a 300mm Nikon (f/4.5) and a Nikon F2. The Kodachrome 64 slide has been scanned using a Coolscan V.

Impressive animal. I hope to visit that park within few months. Is it a place where you could spend the night in any kind of lodge ?

Joli le minou! Il doit est mort depuis longtemps le pauvre vieux. Je ne savais pas qu'il y avait des reserves au Cameroun. Aucune photo ne le relate. Merci.

J'ai un coup de coeur pour cette photo.Je connais cette r駸erve du nord cameroun,j'y suis all� en 1981!!軋 nous rajeuni pas,j'avais aussi un f2 avec un nikkor 500 mm a mirroir.malheureusement ce jour l� pas de lions en vue,ils sortent comme ils le sentent!on a beau avoir du matos,d鑚 fois,ya rien � faire.j'ai fait quelques photos plus au nord,pr鑚 de kouss駻i dans une "r駸erve" si on peut dire. mais bon,軋 donne pas grand chose,lumi鑽e si dure!!!et photos si vieillies!! alors bravo pour ce beau scan du lion.amiti駸."
