Our whale watching tour started and ended in the Sal Rei harbour. It has quite shallow waters as you can judge by the green water colour. As mentioned before, bigger boats were not able to get closer to the harbour so we were taken to the larger boat by the small boats, about 10 people each time. Answering somebody痴 previous question: for the smaller boats we were getting the life jackets but they were taken away from us on the larger boat. I am not sure whether it means that the bigger boats are safer (keep in mind Titanic) or maybe it means that if you are lost at sea, the life jacket won稚 help you anyway.

I am still not sure whether the ferries which run between the Cape Verde islands have a different terminal which allows them to go closer to the harbour or you need to be transported via the small boats as well.

撤erola� translates from Portuguese as 菟earl�, hence the title of this photo. I recently watched with my daughter the movie 撤irates of the Caribbean� with the 釘lack Pearl� being the most important ship in the movie. I suppose it is just a coincidence, although pirates were quite often attacking the Cape Verde islands in the past. We did the whale watching trip on another boat, called 敵elidonya 1� (not in this photo).

Hello Mariusz,
Such a nice and quiet view of this harbour with several smaller and larger boats. The pearl is very well placed in the foreground and its dark blue colour and red details stand out so well from the colour of the water. Also the colourful houses in the background are most charming.

the buildings of the islands ever looked for me as well done, not very humble structures. excellent image contrasting the deep blue of the boat with the very clear waters. nice view.

On my screen the green water of the harbour looks ... blue :)
You told me once that my blue on your screen is green.
You did the whale watching tour with another boat. But do you mean an equally small boat?
When the boat really hangs as obliquely into the ocean water as you described, that is really an adventurous trip.
