Photographer's Note
Another view of the Queen Nefertari Temple at Aswan. I've already uploaded a wider angled view but this one clearly shows the scale of the impressive statues. The people in the doorway are dwarfed. Someone is holding a giant ankh. The sign says 'no photo inside the temple', unfortunately for me.

Hello Chris,
It's a fantastic wall with mainly well maintained statues and decorations. Yet it was the person in the doorway that truly opened my eyes to the magnitude of this view. The good light is of course another great benefit.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
A fantastic photo of this ancient temple. The people in the dark doorway add a great sense of size and show how big these statues actually are. Wonderful sunlight and play of shadows as well.

Hello Chris,
I started to doubt for a while because you placed this temple under Aswan. Yet from the thumbnail I recognized the famous temple in Abu Simbel.
The size of the statues is impressive. Beautiful hieroglyphs too.
I must confess that I expected more from the interior. I probably expected the impossible after seeing the statues in the rock face.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Chris,
interesting facade with these high statues, well sculpted, good effect with these shadows to give contrast at your presentation and good too the human presence, a good result for the scale of the monument, tfs.

Hi Chris,
Great to see these ancient reliefs on the temple side. Direction of light shows forms well. The colour gives impression as if this all was made of sand.

Hello Chris,
This is a remarkable wall, with its inset statues and mass of hieroglyphs. Your photograph has a very 3D effect with the difference in the shadows and sunlit areas.
Did you have to wait for someone to emerge from the doorway? The figure is important for scale.
When people discovered these remarkable ruins, at first, they would have no understanding that the patterns were actually writing, explaining about the queen!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

chris
it is an impressive fa軋de with these giant carvings, I can imagine how impacted was the foreign people who visited the country in those days, when egypt was much more advanced than their neighbors.
