Photographer's Note
Day VIII
After the last moutains and the last dunes, we arrive in Ghat. Ghat is a sad and lost town in the desert.
Every people flying back to Europe was here, while waiting for the plane. The place was then a little overcrowded, especially after a week a peace and silence.
That's why it was a little hard to enjoy walking there, even if the old city and the citadel were finally worth it...

Hi Stephane, This is a very special looking city with its own characters. A nice shot with good PoV and DoF to show the details of the foreground as well as the open view to the background. Nice contrast and good clarity. Well done.

Hi Stephane
Back in town eh? Hope you had a good trip wherever you've been. I've never been to Ghat, though I did go to Ghadames, which was spectacular. Great shot here, it looks a little like a Moroccan casbah. Nice light and exposure and good framing as usual. Nice work.

Hello St駱hane

Hi Stephane,
Quite a change now that we are back in town. With the nice blue sky and the beautiful cloud you can really heave a sigh of relief. You managed the light well and it looks like a good time of the day with all those good shadows to bring out the shapes. I must say I enjoyed this desert trip tagging along behind you. Well done!! Best regards.

I just looked at a fortress in Sion that jrzuffery posted and now this one in Libya. Two totally different settings but both equally as beautiful. And both places have fortresses that match their settings. Here the large rock this fortress sits on appears massive and horizontal topped by an equally massive and horizontal fort. And you capture the lonliness of this last outpost here. The emptiness, the roughness of the rocks, the dunes and mountains in the distance. It's really the last place on earth. And it watches out over the great unknown beyond in its lonliness. Very well done Stephane.
